Forgiveness "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:12-14 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In this writing, Paul offers us a strategy to allow us to live for God day after day. We are to imitate Christs compassionate and forgiving attitude. We are to have love guide our daily lives. Allow the peace of God be the number one ruler of your own heart. Forever and always be thankful. Keep the work of God in you at all times. Live as though you a representative of Christ in your daily walk. These words are taken from the Life Application Study Bible, New International version, Zondervan. p.2166.
Dreaming of the Fall Season The only thing a gardener can do in Houston, Texas in the heat of the summer is to plan the Fall garden. By preoccupation with planning and preparation on paper, one can avoid the dreaded humidity, rain, mosquitoes and sweltering heat of summertime in Houston. Once the rain subsides and the breezes begin to gently arrive much to your surprise you tend to forget the heat of summer. I love the thought of Fall. I love the colors, the pumpkins, the colored corn , the hay-rides and the Fall blooming perennials and most of all the nights spent on the back porch sipping a warm cup of coffee. I will miss the 8:30 sunsets I have witnessed this summer. I am certain I will not miss the heat.

Life, Love, Laughter

Look deep inside your heart and remember your most precious memories, those you bring to mind when you are reminiscing. Hold on to those and cherish the joy that they bring. I can recall baking a coconut cake with my grandmother in her farm kitchen in rural Louisiana. The kitchen smelled sweet as the cake baked, the pure white flakes of coconut glistened in the sunlight coming through the kitchen window. It was delightful to serve the fresh slices to family and watch their faces smile with delight at the delectable flavor. I loved my grandmother dearly and I am certain that I will share with you all of her special gifts.
